Tay Kinney Selected to USA Basketball U18 National Team

Kinney was selected for the 2026 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team, with training camp starting May 21 at the U.S. Olympic Center.
The U18 squad will compete in the 2026 FIBA AmeriCup in Leon, Mexico from June 1–7.
Kinney is a 6-foot-2 guard from Newport, Kentucky and was a 2026 McDonald’s All-American.
Kinney has previously participated in USA Basketball minicamps in 2024 and 2025.
The U18 roster includes Kinney among 32 finalists for 12 spots, with Davion Adkins among KU peers.
Group A competition features Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, with semifinal and medal rounds scheduled for June 5–7.
The AmeriCup event will be streamed live on YouTube via FIBA.
Kinney’s selection marks his first inclusion on a USA Basketball national team.
Kinney previously competed for RWE in Atlanta’s Overtime Elite program.
