UM students to compete in 37th business startup challenge

UM hosts the 37th John Ruffatto Startup Challenge with a $50,000 prize fund for Montana student ventures.
A 24-member panel selected 14 finalists from over 103 submissions for this year’s challenge.
The finals are set for UM’s Gallagher Business Building on Friday, with doors opening at 4:30 p.m.
Remsight, the 2025 winner, is among the notable Montana startups previously launched by the Challenge.
Finalists cover diverse sectors, from search engines for remote areas to AI-assisted detection tools.
Other finalists include Balance Labs, HcareGo, Ownable, Netikos, and WALT among 14.
UM aims to showcase Montana student entrepreneurship and foster local business growth.
Judges and industry professionals will participate in evaluating the finalists.
The event integrates networking before the competition begins.
