TOPPERS honors military community theater productions, performers

TOPPERs 65th Awards Show honored 15 theater productions and volunteers across Europe’s military communities.
Top honors went to Clybourne Park, The Addams Family, and Piper in respective Play, Musical, and Family Show categories.
Volunteer hours totaled 119,737 from 18,743 volunteers across 18 garrisons.
COL Kirk Alexander praised volunteers and parents for enabling overseas theater programs.
Ceremony featured eight musical numbers performed by cast members from competing productions.
Two long-time Army Entertainment staff members were honored for decades of service.
Judges Andrea Huber and Jonathon Lamer evaluated nominees in person for more than 50 awards.
A ceremonial check highlighted contributions and attendance figures for the season.
Event was described as a premiere Army Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation event and among the largest overseas theater festivals.
The ceremony drew more than 650 attendees and featured audience members at 470 live events.
The awards ceremony recognized nominees from seven Army and two Air Force community theaters in Europe.
