Former Gamecock pitcher receives first-ever MLB call-up
- TJ Shook's contract was selected by the Colorado Rockies, giving him his first MLB opportunity.
- Shook played for South Carolina before turning pro, posting a 3.04 ERA in college.
- He spent four years in the Brewers system and later moved to the Mets before reaching the Rockies.
- Shook joined the Rockies after the Rule 5 Draft Triple-A phase and posted a strong 2.86 ERA in 28.1 innings this season.
- Shook is the sixth former Gamecock in The Show, joining several other players across MLB teams.
- Shook will be the second Gamecock to play for the Rockies, following Jim Stoops in 1998.
