Students offered chance to step into world of cutting-edge science

STFC Daresbury Laboratory opened applications for its summer work experience program at Sci-Tech Daresbury.
Placements run June to August and target students from Warrington, Runcorn, Widnes and nearby areas.
Fields include artificial intelligence, electrical engineering, nuclear physics and more to broaden STEM exposure.
The aim is to connect classroom learning with real-world applications and inspire future STEM professionals.
Last year saw 373 students participate, with positive feedback on inspiration and future study in STEM.
Gina Czarnecki highlighted the programme’s impact on students’ confidence and ambition.
Alumni feedback indicates strong interest in science and technology careers post-placement.
The program also connects students with a wider network of local Sci-Tech Daresbury employers.
