BBC Christmas special script called 'too offensive' up for sale for £10k

A rejected BBC Blackadder Christmas script, Blackadder in Bethlehem, is now for sale at £10,000.
The draft was written by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton but scrapped over controversy fears.
Proceeds from the sale will support the Theirworld charity, aiding children's education.
The script would have placed Blackadder as a Basil Fawlty-like innkeeper in Bethlehem.
Richard Curtis described the draft as a 'strange mixture of Fawlty Towers and Life of Brian'.
BBC stalwart Rowan Atkinson would have returned as Blackadder in the unaired episode.
The project was never shown to Elton and was abandoned before production.
Handwritten notes from Blackadder Goes Forth filming are included with the sale.
The manuscript appeared in Jem Roberts’ 2012 book, The True History of the Blackadder.
