LA Galaxy signs Troy Elgersma and Julian Placias to Short-Term Agreements from Ventura County FC ahead of a Real Salt Lake game.
Elgersma, 21, has two goals and one assist for VCFC this season after college at American University.
Placias, 20, previously played for Galaxy Academy and VCFC, with three goals and two assists for VCFC this season.
MLS rules allow four Short-Term Agreements per season for players 25 or younger from an MLS NEXT Pro affiliate.
The signings are part of the Galaxy’s ongoing strategy to bolster depth during the MLS season.
Elgersma and Placias’ new agreements are their third Short-Term Deals of the season for the Galaxy.
LA Galaxy will face Real Salt Lake on Sunday after the signings.
Both players have ties to Virginia-based and California-based soccer backgrounds through VCFC and Galaxy Academy.
