America250 events set across Hawaii ahead of July 4

Hawaii will host multiple America250 Independence Day events across Kauai, Oahu, Hawaii Island and Maui in early July.
Kauai will host Freedom Fest at PMRF on July 2 with a 5 p.m. start and 9 p.m. fireworks.
Oahu schedules the Kailua Independence Day Parade for July 4 at 10 a.m.
Hawaii Island will host the Hilo Bay Blast fireworks exhibition on July 4 at 8 p.m.
Maui will feature Makawao Stampede Patriotic Day on July 5 at 11 a.m.
Officials emphasize the events reflect Hawaii’s shared past and Spirit of Aloha while honoring veterans.
Donations are being sought to fund the celebrations, with private funding and no government money listed.
People can donate to hawaiiamerica250.org/home to support event costs.
The effort followed an executive order in 2023 and continued through 2024 and 2025 before the first event.
The capstone events aim to draw large crowds as the U.S. marks its 250th birthday nationwide.
