Grieving Duke of Kent makes sombre appearance 9 weeks after wife's death

Duke of Kent attends Remembrance Sunday service in Whitehall, as King Charles leads the royal turnout.

King Charles led the service and the two-minute silence at 11 a.m. on Remembrance Sunday.
The Queen and the Princess of Wales took part from the central balcony during the service.
The Duke’s wreath was laid on his behalf by his equerry, Captain Pieter Myburgh.
Katharine, Duchess of Kent, died on September 4, 2025, prompting mourning within the family.
The Duchess had retired from public life and had last appeared publicly in October 2024.
The service honored veterans and included 10,000 armed forces personnel in the march-past.
The Duke of Kent previously served in the Armed Forces and holds honorary ranks.
The Remembrance Sunday ceremony featured multiple balconies and wreaths from royal family members.
