This $5 budget butter just beat out major brands for Australia's top spot

Aldi’s Butterfully is crowned top butter in Canstar Blue’s 2026 survey, earning five stars for Overall Satisfaction.
The top ranking also cites Butterfully for Value for Money and Packaging with five-star ratings.
Second place goes to Westgold Butter, made in New Zealand, with five-star Overall Satisfaction again noted.
Lurpak Butter Spreadable is placed fourth, praised for Taste with several four-star scores in other areas.
Mainland ButterSoft lands in fourth place with high Texture scores but pricier positioning.
Western Star ranks fifth with solid ratings across Overall Satisfaction, Taste, and Packaging.
Devondale Dairy Soft appears in sixth position with balanced scores across categories.
The report notes Aldi’s Pure Valley, Coles, Coles Simply, and Woolworths brands rounding out the top ten.
The Canstar Blue survey covered 2,086 Australians over a three-month purchase period.
Butterfat content and ingredients for Butterfully include 60% dairy content and 11.5% butterfat with vegetable oil.
Lurpak costs about $6.50 for a 250g tub and is Denmark-made with 64% butter and canola oil.
